The ABSA banking app is excellent. It makes it very easy to do payments to various vendors, buy airtime, etc from the comfort of your home. It is user friendly and a must have for every ABSA customer. If you don't have it on your smartphone, go to your nearest ABSA bank and have them set it up for you. It's guaranteed to make your life a lot more easier.
Excellent app - works well. But very very difficult that digital services are so often down on weekends (called "scheduled maintenance" but there is no mention of it on your relevant website). And Abbie not very helpful, and that is a great pity because your website isn't either, and phoning is a nuisance and not always helpful either.
This app is an absolute disgrace for Absa. I have been a long time Absa for more than 30 years but this app is ready to drive me away. You are forced to receive almost daily notification spam on your phone (some days up to 5 notifications at once) which you cannot switch off if you need to use the phone to verify payments. You get spam email all the time, from which you also cannot unsubscribe. Login with the app is always super slow and frustrating.
Absolutely love using the app. A possible bug on my end - when adding a beneficiary it's impossible to have both the beneficiary and myself receive proof is payments via email. I have to select fax, sms or none. The only way to change this is when I opt to actually pay them, here is when it is allowed. Not sure of it's possible to split what notifications I get. I'd like to receive banking related notifications but not marketing ones. Can this be split so I can choose so I'm not inundated.
Today, I had to fill in a beneficiery's details 3 times on the app, as it keeps logging me out while I'm switching between a pdf invoice and the absa app on my phone. I hate my life. A month ago I applied 3 times for a business liquidity plus account on my phone, as the app keeps logging me out while I upload the required documents. When I went to the bank a month later to ask why the account is still not open, they said for more than a year now it doesnt work on the app. Fark my life.
