The 850 OBD-II app stands out in the market for vehicle diagnostics, offering a suite of features that cater to both seasoned mechanics and everyday car owners. Below are some of its core features:
As a frequent traveler, I often find myself on long road trips, and having the 850 OBD-II app installed on my phone has been a game-changer. One memorable scenario occurred during a trip to the mountains when my car’s engine light flickered on. Instead of panicking or searching for the nearest mechanic, I simply connected the app to my OBD-II scanner. Within moments, I was able to diagnose a minor issue related to the fuel system that I could resolve on my own, saving both time and money. Another instance was while commuting to work; I noticed a drop in fuel efficiency. The app's performance monitoring feature helped me identify a faulty oxygen sensor, which I was able to replace, ensuring my vehicle ran optimally.
The user experience with the 850 OBD-II app is largely positive. From the moment I opened it, the clean and straightforward interface made navigation a breeze. The home screen displays all critical diagnostics at a glance, and diving deeper into specific categories, such as error codes or performance metrics, was intuitive. The feature workflow is seamless; connecting my device to the scanner took only seconds, and the real-time data updates were impressively quick. I found the response time of the app to be commendable, with minimal lag even when accessing detailed reports. Overall, I felt empowered as a user, equipped with the knowledge I needed to maintain my vehicle effectively.
The 850 OBD-II app is available for free, providing a solid range of features that cater to basic users. However, for those who want to unlock advanced features, a premium subscription is available at a reasonable monthly rate. This subscription grants users access to additional functionalities, including enhanced diagnostic options and personalized support. Given the app's value, many users, including myself, find the investment worthwhile for the benefits it brings to vehicle maintenance.
One aspect that truly impressed me was the developer's commitment to updates and customer support. The app receives regular updates that enhance its functionality and ensure compatibility with newer vehicle models. Additionally, I found the customer support team to be responsive and helpful. When I encountered a minor issue while attempting to connect to the scanner, I reached out via email and received a solution within 24 hours. This level of support is crucial for maintaining user trust and satisfaction.
In today's digital age, security and privacy are paramount concerns, especially for American users. The 850 OBD-II app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility as these platforms enforce strict security measures. When setting up the app, users are required to register, but the personal data requirements are minimal, primarily focusing on necessary information to create an account. Importantly, the app does not bombard users with ads, and its tracking behavior appears limited to what is essential for functionality. This approach not only enhances the user experience but also fosters trust, ensuring that sensitive data remains secure. Overall, the app successfully balances usability with essential privacy measures, making it a reliable tool for vehicle diagnostics.

Fantastic app, works flawlessly with my 1998 Volvo S70 and has functions matching or even exceeding dealer tools

Amazing! 1997 Volvo 960. I had removed airbag, turned on car and srs light came on-there was no problem it was my error. Took a minute to get the Bluetooth to connect but it was written in the very small (font) instructions how to connect. Thank you people from Finland and others who have developed this app!

Great app that enables you to read every module (on a Volvo 850/V70) individually, which is something even Volvo Vida won't do. A must-have app for every Volvo 850/V70 classic enthousiast. Do make sure you have a good, fully functioning ELM-327, because many of the Chinese knockoffs I have tried don't have the full ISO-9141-1 control set available which makes them useless with this app. Would love to see IMMO programming in this app, by the way. Edit: OBDLink SX adapter works flawlessly.

After hours of searching for a way to use my bluetooth obdII device to find the total miles on my 1996 Volvo 850 I came across this and it worked!!! I just started it up, linked it with the device (already inserted into the port) and ran the scan function. Thank you!

This app is awesome! I installed it nearly 2 years ago and it has been indispensable for reset service lights, pulling mileage from the computer and reading live data. I dont know if it can reset the SRS light but would love for that to become a feature.
