The Yi Home app packs a powerful punch with its impressive features designed to enhance home security and streamline user experience. Here are some core highlights that make this app stand out:
As a busy professional and a parent, I find various scenarios where the Yi Home app proves to be invaluable. One of my primary uses of the app is monitoring my home while I’m at work. The convenience of being able to check on my kids and pets during the day is a game-changer. I can also keep an eye on my home during vacations, ensuring everything is secure while I’m away. Additionally, I use the app to manage my indoor cameras when hosting gatherings, making sure everything runs smoothly and no one is left out of the fun.
The user interface of the Yi Home app is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it accessible even for those who may not be tech-savvy. Upon launching the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that displays all my connected cameras. The workflow is seamless; I can quickly switch from live view to recorded footage with just a few taps. The performance is impressive, with minimal lag when streaming video. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app feels reliable and responsive, giving me confidence that my home is being monitored effectively.
Yi Home offers a free version of the app that includes basic features, which is great for users who want to test the waters. However, if you want to take full advantage of the cloud storage and advanced features, there are various subscription plans available. I opted for a mid-tier plan that provides ample storage and additional functionalities without breaking the bank. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the peace of mind it provides.
The Yi Home app frequently receives updates that enhance its features and security measures. I’ve noticed regular improvements that have made my user experience even better. In terms of support, Yi has a responsive customer service team that is quick to address any issues. I once faced a glitch with my camera, and within a few hours of reaching out, I received a helpful response that guided me to a solution, reinforcing my trust in the brand.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to smart home devices. The Yi Home app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring it meets the necessary safety standards. Registration requires personal data, but I appreciate that the app allows you to control what information you share. There is no intrusive advertising within the app, and I’ve not noticed any tracking behaviors that compromise my privacy. Additionally, the app provides clear privacy settings, empowering users to manage their data effectively and securely. Overall, I feel confident knowing that Yi takes user privacy seriously while providing a reliable service.

Not worth the purchase! They used to be a regular indoor camera option to choose from many, now they are a money hungry cash grabbing company. Adds are ridiculous on the app, very invasive and now they want to force a subscription for you to be able to use the most basic features, even imposing a limit timer of viewing if you are using it unsubscribed, more like buying a mirror and paying to see your own reflection. Very disapointed, sending it to the trash for any other less predatory option.

it's okay, not great. Miss a lot no matter the setting. Video quality is great. Constantly tries to get me to buy a subscription even though I have one, updates constantly (at least three times a week) & while it waits for $/update it won't record motions. Like holding a hostage for $ &/or update. Get random bird flying by, but miss package drop offs I set it up for, & my mechanic taking my vehicle from my driveway. My car is there, my car is gone, nothing in between. Make it make sense.

12/20/23: As others have said... I've used Yi for years, generally happy with it. Now, full screen ads on startup. Do not offer me a discount on an ad-free subscription. I'm not getting it. Update 1/31/25: Wow, they're really hitting the startup ads hard. Update 5/2/25: I'm moving on to a different product. The inundation of ads is not worth the quality of this product.

Not sure what happened with this last update but I have lost the ability to see live feed. I haven't signed up with your service as I don't need that, but I was able to see the live feed. Now it says it can't connect to the network, but everything else in my house is able too. I've restarted it, deleted app and reinstalled but it still doesn't work. I'm about to give up on them and just get a Blink indoor camera(to go with my outdoor cameras(

It is alright for the first month but then if you don't pay their monthly subscription you have to watch advertisement after advertisement. You hear something outside and want to check to see what it is you have to watch a 60 second ad before you can view the camera. Recently they added ads between switching cameras so you have to watch multiple ads just to view the live feed and ads pop up all over the app, sometimes in the app I will get a pop-up saying my phone is infected with a virus.....
